Spencer Roe

Spencer is a 21 year old International Show Jumper based in South Hykeham, Lincolnshire. Currently ranked in the top 20 in the UK, he has represented Team GB for the last 3 years, from Junior and Young Riders Nations Cup Teams to being selected for the World Equestrian Games.

Coming from a horsey family, Spencer has ridden competitively since the age 12 competing on ponies. Leaving school at 16 he decided to pursue his riding as a career.

He spent two years riding and grooming for International Show Jumper Andrew Saywell, before moving to the Billy Stud where he trained under William and Pippa Funnell for a further two years. Last year, he moved back to Lincolnshire to set up his own yard.

For the last two years he has been part of the World Class Development Programme which aims to producing young British talent to Olympic standard. He was also awarded ‘Leading Rider (Under 21) of the Year’ at the BSJA Awards Ball in October.
